Shipment of components of an offshore wind park
Under the slogan „Schmidbauer goes Offshore“, not only EWEA Offshore 2011 in Amsterdam was visited, but also the first order in this segment could be placed.
The project was awarded by the Cuxport GmbH, a subsidiary company of Rhenus Group to handle components for the offshore wind park
Thorntonbank Phase II.
The mission will start in February in Cuxhaven. Therefore, prefabricated tower segments up to 150t from the company Ambau will be transacted by the port’s mobile crane and our 300t crawler crane (LR 1300) from land to an appropriate pontoon. Yet, we do not only perform the crane work: by having in-house engineering, we were also able to contribute to a secure and efficient solution for handling these components.
Thereby we benefited from our longtime know-how of handling large components up to 500t in other inland ports.
We obviously will inform you about the future project progression on our website.
As you can see, we can also support your offshore projects with large equipment and we are prepared for all requirements.
