In 2022, Schmidbauer underwent a rigorous and complex sustainability audit with EcoVadis to initiate further steps toward sustainability and improved business practices. EcoVadis is an internationally recognized sustainability rating agency. Over 125,000 companies of all sizes and industries have been evaluated by EcoVadis to help them address sustainability challenges and navigate ever-evolving regulations in a structured way. The assessment is based on indicators across four key areas:
- Policies: commitment related to responsible and sustainable business practices;
- Actions: concrete measures that have been implemented;
- Results: current performance indicators (Key Performance Indicators, KPIs).
The extensive and time-consuming audit process made many of our business practices transparent. In our first audit at the end of 2022, we immediately achieved a very good score, placing us in the high percentile in the overall company evaluation. We were very satisfied with this result, especially because we received valuable insights that clearly highlighted both our strengths and weaknesses.

Our EcoVadis ranking has further boosted our commitment, and the year 2023 has been used to implement further steps towards greater responsibility. The latest evaluation of our company by EcoVadis shows that we are moving in the right direction: with 69 percent, we are now in the top third of all companies ever evaluated by EcoVadis.
