Schmidbauer celebrates 90 years of company anniversary

The 90th anniversary was and is a reason for Schmidbauer to celebrate. Especially after two years of the corona pandemic and social gatherings that had become rare, this “Open Day” was a great pleasure for around 1,500 guests. Long-standing business partners, loyal employees and friends of Schmidbauer came to celebrate this special day together in the spirit of "90 years of Schmidbauer" – bright sunshine included.

Of course, (almost) everything revolved around the yellow cranes: We exhibited various mobile cranes – including the largest telescopic crane in our fleet, the LTM 1650-8.1 –, mobile construction cranes, loading cranes and semitrailer tractors across the entire site, so that every visitor could see the vehicles up close. In addition to all sorts of games and fun for children such as painting and handicrafts, there was also a mini-crane to enable the youngest to drive the crane themselves. With the track and field athletes of TSV Gräfelfing around the "Team Schmidbauer" even the big ones could prove their sporting abilities. Various food trucks offered culinary specialties such as sausages, bowls, crêpes, coffee and cake, and there was also a large beer garden area with a stage and live-band, as well as a lounge corner for relaxed conversations. The program highlight was represented by two crane baskets, which pulled the visitors up to a dizzy height of 90 meters for a breathtaking view over the Würmtal and Munich to the peaks of the near Alps.

Three weeks later, on July 16, a smaller festival program could also be enjoyed in Oberndorf am Neckar in Baden-Württemberg. Not only the company's anniversary was a good reason to do so, but also the relocation of the Schmidbauer branch there, exactly one year ago. The previous site had become too small, which is why Schmidbauer decided on a new home in the Rankäcker commercial area on the A81. A modern new building with future character has been built on the 6,000 square meter site. Electricity is produced by means of a photovoltaic system on the roof and the associated battery buffer storage in order to cover the company's own requirements.

We are proud of our past, but above all we are looking forward to the challenges we will master in the future. Ever since the company was founded in 1932, Jakob Schmidbauer and his wife Franziska have focused on innovation and future orientation. This way of thinking remained trend-setting for the two following generations. This is precisely why we are today one of the leading partners for mobile crane services and special transports – both locally and internationally. So it only makes sense that the future motto should be "Constantly different, tangible more”.

We are very happy that so many of our guests came and celebrated with us – it was a great party and we had a lot of fun! Thank you very much for your visit and your congratulations! And also to everyone who couldn't be there: we'll see each other again for our 100th birthday in 2032!
