Schmidbauer lifts the historical "King Ludwig Bridge" to the Bavarian Monument Preservation Prize 2020

The historic landmark of civil engineering, the King Ludwig Bridge in Kempten, was awarded the Bavarian Historic Monument Preservation Prize 2020 in the category "Bronze Public Buildings". When it was decided in 2015 to renovate the bridge for cyclists and pedestrians, Schmidbauer was an important part of this major project. The challenge of this spectacular assignment in July 2017 was to excavate the partially massively damaged parts of the bridge in three parts in order to transport them to a nearby field workshop. After the repair, the bridge sections were lifted in July 2018 with millimeter precision. Due to the particularly high structural engineering quality, on September 17, the Minister of Construction, Kerstin Schreyer, awarded the "Bronze Bavarian Monument Conservation Prize 2020".
