A lake pavilion for the Olympic jubilee

This summer marks the 50th anniversary of the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich. To mark the occasion, extraordinary things are being planned in the Olympic Park. Among other things, a pavilion will be erected in the Olympic Lake under the Olympic Tower. An exhibition about sport in the Olympic Park will be on display there from April 9 to October. A spectacular project for which Schmidbauer is happy to provide the foundation. In the truest sense of the word: By means of our ATF 220 - and 71 tons of additional ballast - a scaffolding platform and two footbridges were set into the Olympic Lake. In the process, we cooperated with the company Nebel Gerüstbau.

For Schmidbauer, the project is also a return to an old place of activity. The company has a long history with the Olympic facilities. From the mid-1960s, when it came to creating the infrastructure for a major event, Schmidbauer was on hand. Whether it was setting up the floodlights in the stadium, assembling the auxiliary supports for the tent roof construction or replanting over 5,000 trees: The fact that the Olympic Park looks the way it does today is also thanks to Schmidbauer.

Thus, 50 years of the Olympic Games are also an anniversary for Schmidbauer - and the chance to get involved in the design of the area once again.
