Weighing of 6 drums for transport to Russia

Weighing and determination of the center of gravity of 6 drums on a parking lot in Hamburg with a view of the Elbphilharmonie Concert Hall for safe ship transport, and the following crane and installation work.

Our customer, Alexander Global Logistik, received the order to transport 6 drums to a refinery in Russia. In order to ensure a safe ship transport as well as the associated crane and installation work in Russia, the exact weight and center of gravity of the drums had to be determined. In April 2020, Schmidbauer used two large load distribution beams to create a flat surface for weighing at the C. Steinweg Terminal in Hamburg, against the magnificent backdrop of the Hamburg Elbe Philharmonic Hall. The difficulty was that the ground bearing at the terminal was unknown. Therefore, load cells were positioned with millimeter accuracy and the coordinates were entered into the specially programmed weighing program.
With the help of the port's own crane, the drums were placed on the load cells – three weighings per drum were carried out to achieve exact results.

Thanks to the well-rehearsed Schmidbauer team, the weighing could be completed within one morning. The weighing protocols were then sent directly from the construction site to the customer so that nothing stood in the way of safe transport and further work.
